Dried Fuji & Granny Smith Apple Crisp

This perfectly sweet and tart apple crisp will bring you back to the Fall season. Forget the slicing and dicing, this recipe calls for our Granny Smith Apples and Fuji Apples to give you double the flavor without the extra work.

Cook Time: 1 hour


For the Apples:
Nonstick cooking spray
3 bags (2.5 ounces each) NatureBox Granny Smith Apples
2 bags (2.5 ounces each) NatureBox Fuji Apples
4 cups apple juice
3 cups water
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

For the Crisp:
1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Vanilla frozen yogurt, for serving (optional)


1. Prepare the Apples: Lightly spray 9 x 11-inch baking dish with cooking spray. In large pot, combine apples, apple juice, water, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger and salt. Cook over medium heat 25 to 30 minutes or until most liquid is absorbed, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; transfer mixture to prepared baking dish and let cool slightly.

2. Make the Crisp: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In medium bowl, use pastry cutter or two knives to cut together butter, flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar and salt until pea-sized pieces form.

3. Sprinkle crisp mixture over apples. Transfer to oven; bake 30 to 35 minutes or until edges bubble. Let stand 10 minutes before serving warm, with frozen yogurt, if desired.
